Broken and Blue

Working on some new ceramic pieces. Here is an experiment testing out some colours and wax resist. Broke in half in the kiln. More exciting developments to come.

1962 and 2012 (The 50th Anniversary of Independence Art Exhibition)

I was asked to contribute work to the National Museum's exhibition 1962 and 2012 (The 50th Anniversary of Independence Art Exhibition) curated by Kywnn Johnson. I was happy to be considered  - especially as I was the youngest artist included in the exhibition. A selection from my Here and There series is on show.

WOMA 2012

I've just sent my siamese baby heads, 'Myself and I', off to Grenada for WOMA 2012. I am glad for an opportunity to show them and appreciative that the team were so accommodating to squeeze me in last minute. They are an experiment that I continue to develop in studio.

 I haven't updated in a while. Just wanted to share these photos, albeit low quality phone pics. I am working on several things, these ceramic heads being one of them. I am very interested in childhood and formative years. I am interested in what children do with the information that is handed to them and that which is observed. What stays inside the box and concretizes, what triggers questions, what is absorbed and manifests as something else.
